At least 39 civilians were killed and 45  injured in Rakhine State during February, bringing the total number of casualties to 84, stated the data collected by Narinjara News.

It  shows that airstrikes by the military junta in February affected Rakhine townships namely Ponnagyun, Kyaukphyu, Rambre, Thandwe, Kyauktaw and Mrauk-U. Currently all these townships are under the control of Arakan Army (AA).

On 24 February,  20 civilians including women and children were killed and 14 sustained injuries after  bombing on  Yoe Ngu village under  Ponnagyun township.

The second highest number of casualties was reported on 12 February on 79th Union Day, when the military commission engaged air forces to bomb Kyauktaw and Mrauk-U localities, killing eight innocent people, including a two-month-old baby, and injuring 15 others.

During January, the junta forces conducted air strikes, heavy and small arms firing to kill 30 civilians, including some prisoners of war, and injuring 38 others.
