Khaing Lu Hla (Roma Mray) — Myanmar military airstrikes killed eight civilians, including a 4-year-old child and a 78-year-old woman, injured 19 others, and destroyed approximately 30 buildings in Kyauktaw town, according to a June 18 statement from the Arakan Army (AA) Press and Information Service.
The AA reported that the Myanmar Air Force used four aircraft to bomb residential neighborhoods and the Lanmadaw Village Market Square.
The assault occurred in two waves, lasting nearly an hour and beginning around 3 p.m. on June 17. Kyauktaw is located along the upper Kaladan River in Rakhine (Arakan) State.

During the first assault, two fighter jets struck five civilian locations in Kyauktaw, including the residential areas of Phit Thay Ward, Ywama Ward, and Kata-3 Road, using 13 rockets and three 500-pound bombs.
Shortly after, a second attack targeted the market square in Lanmadaw Village with four 500-pound bombs, one 300-pound bomb, and two rockets.
The aerial assault by the military junta lasted for nearly an hour, leaving eight innocent civilians dead, including a four-year-old child.
An additional 19 people were injured, and approximately 30 buildings, comprising both homes and shops, were reduced.
