8 junta soldiers killed after attack on military vehicle carrying reinforcements

After the attack on the provincial police station in Magway Region, 8 soldiers under the Military Council were killed due to the attack on the military vehicle that came to the reinforcements, said the information officer of PDF Battalion 4 of Thayet district.

Three people, including a sub-inspector, were killed when a 40-mm grenade was fired at the Hsinkaw provincial police station in Thayet township, Magway region early Monday morning.

Ko Myat, who is in charge of the information of PDF battalion 4 in Thayet district, said, "We conducted a mine attack. The car was overturned. As soon as the mine exploded, we shot from both sides, so there could be many casualties."

Thayet district PDF battalion 4 and Moe Gyoe guerrilla joint forces fired 3 shots with 40mm grenades, 2 of which fell directly into the police station, killing 3 including a Sub-Inspector.

Information Officer Ko Myat said that about 5 more people were killed when a light truck with a force of 25 personnel from 12th defense equipment factory was attacked with a mine between Ponna village and Twinlel village.

Similarly, on the morning of February 20, a 30-year-old young man said that there was no explosion when a drone bombed the 5-mile checkpoint at the entrance to Mindon town.

The 5 mile checkpoint is on the Pathein-Monywa road and the Hsinkaw police station is part of Thayet township, but the camp is located beside the Mindon creek and near the end of Mindon township, residents said.

A person close to the district hospital said that about 8 bodies of police and soldiers arrived at the Thayet district hospital.
