65 Junta Bases and Outposts in Karenni State Captured During ‘Operation 1111’

Resistance forces have seized 65 Junta bases, camps, and outposts since the beginning of the 'Operation 1111' in Karenni (Kayah) State, according to their joint announcement on March 23rd.

A spokesperson for the Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF) noted that following the onset of 'Operation 1111', Junta troops quickly faced disruptions to logistic routes connecting townships within Karenni State.

“Before 'Operation 1111', the Junta could maintain logistic routes from Loikaw to Demoso, Hpruso, and Hpasawng. However following the initiation of 'Operation 1111', the Junta lost control over all these routes. As a consequence, the Junta troops now rely solely on helicopters and aircraft for logistics and transport”, he told Shan Herald.

Since the November 11 launch of  'Operation 1111',  the capture of 65 Junta military facilities  has spanned many locations  encompassing 12 in Loikaw, 13 in Demoso, 9 in Hpasawng, 5 in Bawlakhe, 7 in Shadaw, and 17 in Pekon.

Throughout the ongoing 'Operation 1111', the resistance forces have secured control over six townships—Mese, Demoso, Ywathit, Shadaw, Mawchi, and Mongpai (Mobye)—in Karenni State, with estimated 90%  dominance over the entire state.

The resistance forces have evaluated that the Junta's potential for launching a counter-offensive to reclaim Mese and Shadaw is now deemed entirely impossible.

Meanwhile, in Pinlaung Township, fierce clashes continue as the Junta and its ally, the Pa-O National Organization (PNO), battle against the resistance forces.
