3 years after they fled from Chin State ,Kanpetlet Residents Return Home

People who had fled the conflict in Kanpetlet Township in Southern Chin State, nearly three years ago to seek refuge inSaw Township, Magway Region, have now returned to their homes in Kanpetlet Township, according to local residents.

"There are reports suggesting that the situation might deteriorate in Saw Township, prompting many displaced individuals from Kanpetlet to return to their area.

Some are returning to villages where they have close relatives in better conditions, while others are going back to their farms and orchards near the town, engaging in agricultural activities. They have not yet returned to the urban area; that may happen later," explained a resident from Kanpetlet.

The population of Kanpetlet urban area is around three thousand. Due to the fighting that occurred in the urban area, most of the locals fled to Saw Township, Magway Region, which is close to Kanpetlet Township in Chin State.

"Many of those who fled the conflict faced food shortages. It is not easy to transport food from one place to another, and the hardship is even greater for those heading towards the villages where transportation is also difficult," explained a resident.

Many local residents of Kanpetlet Township have been fleeing to nearby areas for almost three years due to local fighting. The locals are also concerned that the fighting may happen again.
