17 killed, 14 injured in airstrikes on Ponnagyun of Rakhine State

Maung Sar Ga — The death toll from the bombing on  Yoe Ngu village under  Ponnagyun township of Rakhine State has risen to 17, said the Arakan Army (AA).

The initial death toll was 11, but as more people died, the number has grown up to 17 as of  5:30 pm on 24 February.

The military junta on Tuesday afternoon attacked the market in Yoe Ngu village with a jet fighter.

The AA statement asserted that 14 people, including innocent civilians and children, were also injured. Some houses and shops were burned down.

The junta has been bombing the Rakhine schools, hospitals, markets and religious buildings, including monasteries, thus killing civilians every day.

Different kinds of military equipment, used in the bombing, were bought by the junta administration from the People’s Republic of China.

Beijing is not only extracting natural resources from Rakhine State collaborating with the military rulers, but also actively supporting the junta government, which is bombing and killing the Rakhine people, exclaimed a former lawmaker.
