The National League for Democracy’s (NLD) chairperson Daw Aung San Suu Kyi has completed her campaign in the upper Chindwin of Sagain Region. She visited both Kani and Homalin on Sunday, according to local residents.
She arrived in Kani on Friday and traveled to Homalin on Saturday, and ended her campaign in the area after holding a rally in Homalin.
During her visit, she told the public that the NLD can only carry out change if it is able to form a government and urged them to help support the party in forming the government.
“I heard her saying that the party will only be able to carry out change if it can form a government and it can only form the government if the public votes for it,” said U Kavisara, a monk from Kani.
Reached for comment the Red Shan Youth Network leader for Homalin Township Ko Than Linn urged the public to vote only for the NLD during a public rally held on the Sutaungpyae Pagoda grounds in Khowaewa Ward in Homalin on Sunday morning.
She flew back to Yangon from Homalin in the evening.
