About 200 monks and 100 nuns protested by worshiping calmly.
"About 40 to50 people joined in. The reason could be the arrest of NLD-Youth in charge on September 26 and because of the worsening condition in Rangoon" said a local.

Protests in Yenanchaung
Thousands of Monks and civilians today held a peaceful protest march today in Yananchaung town in Magwe Division.
About 1,500 Buddhist monks chanted "Metta Sutra and the people shouted slogans of "Lower commodity prices", "Release Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and all political prisoners".
"There are a lot of people. I can't even guess how much it is, all are following the monks," said a local resident.

Authorities step up efforts to restrict protests in Mandalay
Authorities in Mandalay are making rounds in the city, Burma's second largest city and and are announcing with megaphones to locals not to come out of their residents to look at or to offer water and cold drinks to the protesting monks, who are marching along the 22nd street, a local resident told Mizzima.

Situation in Myingyan
"It is confirmed that two members of the National League for Democracy have been arrested. Ko Paw Thein and Ko Win Naing have been detained. They were arrested at about 2 a.m (local time) this morning. We have heard that two monks were also arrested. But I am not sure yet," a local resident said.
Reportedly, monks in Mingyan have decided to put a halt the protests for three days.
"There are no activities today. But the authorities they are busy in tightening security," said the local.
He said there were at least 4,000 monks protesting yesterday and about 40,000 to 50,000 people joined the protest.

Meiktila NLD members arrested
Local authorities arrested Mandalay Division, Meiktila NLD Secretary Daw Myint Myint Aye and NLD Meiktila Youth leader in the evening of September 25.
"She was arrested and taken to an unknown place at 11:15 p.m. on September 25. She had already packed her belongings when the police team arrived. She knew she would be arrested as soon as she hung Daw Aung San Suu Kyi's portrait in her house and offered alms to the monks," Daw Myint Myint Aye's sister said.
"The team told us that my sister was arrested for putting up Daw Suu's portrait. The team included a woman policewoman and the Ward PDC members led by the Special Branch. It was a 12-member team. There was a car in front of our house with its license plate covered," she added.
"My sister stayed calm when the police team surrounded our house. She took what she had to carry with her. She told the police she was waiting for them and that she was ready. The police asked for Daw Suu's portrait probably to produce before the court as an exhibit. She asked them why they took the portrait. She went out before the police team could enter our house and take her away. Six people entered our house. We have not seen her after that. I think she (my sister) is still in Meiktila," she said.
Similarly Meiktial NLD Youth leader Ko Tin Ko Ko was arrested and taken away from the street.
Ko Tin Ko Ko was arrested at about 11 last night from the street. He is a taxi driver. He was snatched from his taxi and his family had to collect the taxi next day when the police informed them. His family does not known where he is," she added.

NLD members in Taung Thar arrested
Authorities early on Thursday morning arrested the Chairman and a youth leader of the NLD in Taung Thar, Mandalay division. They were arrested from their residence at about 2 a.m. (local time).
"U Than Myint Oo (Chairman of NLD Taung Thar) was arrested at about 2 a.m (local time). U Soe Paing was also detained. Officials came on four motorcycles and arrested them. So far we have no information of their whereabouts," said a local resident of Taung Thar.
