Three Brotherhood Alliance Launches Multiple Operations on Junta Positions across Northern Shan State

Following the declaration of Operation 1027 by the Three Brotherhood Alliance, intense clashes have erupted between the Military Council troops and the Three Brotherhood Alliance in multiple townships across northern Shan State.

According to locals intense clashes erupted when the Three Brotherhood Alliance simultaneously launched attacks on Military Council troops positions, toll gates, police outposts, and police stations.

A local woman from Kutkai Township provided the following statement about the conflict situation in northern Shan State. "I believe it was around 5:00 a.m. on October 27 when the shooting began. I heard the gunshots clearly. There were also reports of gunfire in Lashio, Muse, Kutkai, and Namkham happening simultaneously, possibly commencing at 5:30 a.m. I also heard that a coordinated attack occurred not only in the four townships of northern Shan State, but also in Laukkai and Chin Shwe Haw. Based on the information I received, it was mentioned that the Kokang armed group collaborated with the TNLA and successfully captured a significant number of camps." on the morning of October 27.

In the midst of the fighting, according to local residents, the TNLA, a member of the Three Brotherhood Alliance, captured the Military Council's 13-mile camp and two microwave camps located in Namkham Township. These are hill-based military camps of the Military Council along the Namkham-Namhpatkar road in Namkham Township, northern Shan State.

The Three Brotherhood Alliance, includes the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA), Ta'ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), and Arakan Army (AA).

Heightened clashes were observed in Lashio, Kutkai, Muse, Namkham, and Chin Shwe Haw in northern Shan State, as reported by local residents. The Kokang armed group (MNDAA) captured Military Council camps and also took over the town of Chin Shwe Haw, as stated by local news sources and reported by the Shwe Phee Myay news agency, which is based in northern Shan State, and BBC Myanmar news agency.

Northern Shan State residents observed Military Council warplanes heading in the direction of Chin Shwe Haw, where the ongoing conflict is taking place.

"At around 10 am or 11 am, we spotted warplanes heading towards Chin Shwe Haw. Some people had ventured back to their homes due to the ongoing fighting, but the road closures have prevented others from returning," reported a Lashio resident.

Local residents have reported sightings of warplanes in Lashio township. They mentioned that when the conflict initially erupted, only one access road to and from Lashio town was closed. However as the fighting subsided, the Military Council troops shut down all entry and exit points of the town.

The Three Brotherhood Alliance began Operation 1027 on October 27 with five goals, including stopping online gambling scams and building up to ending the military dictatorship.
