The U.S. Consulate General Mr. Michael Heath and a team from Thailand visited Kuang Jor Refugee Camp in Piang Luang Village in the district of Wiang Haeng in Chaing Mai Province, Thailand on 28 April.

The Consulate General’s team arrived in Lai Tai village near to the refugee camp at noon and were greeted by Sai Hlan the chairman of the Kuang Jor Refugee Camp.

He said: “They said that they want to know about the situation in the refugee camp and on the Thai/Burma border. They asked if there was anyone here [in the refugee camp] who wanted to go home. We told them that nobody wants to go home yet. Since the trip was to observe the state of the children’s education they also donated teaching aids.”
