Resistance Forces Seize Junta Base in Banmauk Township

Resistance forces successfully seized control of a base jointly stationed by the Military Council and the Shanni Nationalities Army (SNA) In Banmauk Township, situated on the border between Sagaing Region and Shan State, according to the Kawlin District People's Administrative Team (PAT-Kawlin).

“LDFs and PDF jointly attacked the SNA base in Banmauk, and we can confirm that the resistance forces successfully captured it”, an official from PAT-Kawlin said

The base, positioned between Banmauk and Pinlebu townships, fell under the control of the local defense forces (LDFs) and the People's Defense Force (PDF) through a coordinated attack in the initial week of December. The Kawlin official mentioned that seizing the base encountered no significant resistance, and further investigation is underway to gather details about the battle.

Residents reported that the Military Council and SNA had been stationed at the base since they initiated an operation toward Pinhinkhar village approximately four months ago.

"Due to the invading soldiers, the locals had to flee. Since then, Pinhinkhar has been jointly occupied by the Military Council and SNA. The resistance forces have now successfully seized that base”, the PAT-Kawlin official elaborated.

The base is situated on the route to Pinlebu and Homalin townships, and its strategic importance is defined by its location. Pinhinkhar village, where the Military Council and the SNA were jointly deployed, is predominantly home to the Shanni ethnic group and comprises approximately 100 houses.

On November 11th, an intense clash occurred between the Military Council and resistance forces in Myitthaychin village near Banmauk. According to the Banmauk Revolution (BR), at least 8 personnel, including two officers from the Military Council, were killed in the fighting.
