Over 6,000 Junta Troops Surrender Since Operation 1027

Since 'Operation 1027' launched by the Three Brotherhood Alliance, the surrender count of Junta troops including officers has soared to 6,065, as per Burma News International - Myanmar Peace Monitor (BNI-MPM) records.

Around 4,000 Junta troops surrendered in northern Shan State, 1,101 in Rakhine State, 566 in Mon State, 566 in Karen State, 210 in Kachin State, 76 in Karenni (Kayah) State, and 66 each in Chin State and Bago Region, totaling 6,065 individuals.

In 'Operation 1027', the Three Brotherhood Alliance managed to seize over 20 artillery batteries including long-range Howitzers, along with 8 battle tanks, 16 armored combat vehicles and 2 multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) from the Junta.

The Three Brotherhood Alliance also captured a total of 36 Junta bases and military installations, including significant targets like the Junta's regional military command headquarters in Laukkai, the Kutkai Tactical Operation Command base, as well as the headquarters of the 125th and 289th Infantry Battalions, the 129th Light Infantry Battalion, and the 16th Operation Command headquarters, as documented by BNI-MPM.

Encouraged by the achievements of 'Operation 1027', the resistance warfare escalated in

boldness and strength across Myanmar, dealing significant blows to the Junta. As a result, the number of towns seized by resistance forces has surged to 52 nationwide, with 28 of them under the control of three ethnic armed organizations (EAOs), all members of the Three Brotherhood Alliance, as reported by BNI-MPM.

'Operation 1027' witnessed significant losses for the Junta, including the surrender of numerous military bases and controlled territories, leading to the relinquishment of administrative power in these areas. BNI-MPM's assessment characterizes the ‘Operation 1027’ as a stark reality check, exposing the decline in the military prowess of the Junta and the diminished attack capabilities of its troops.

The Junta refrained from officially disclosing the lists of military bases, towns, and military weaponry lost during the clashes.

In the northern Shan State, where 'Operation 1027' commenced, the Junta has reached a ceasefire agreement with the Three Brotherhood Alliance. However conflicts continue raging in other states and regions across Myanmar.
