KIA 6th Battalion and KPDF joint forces launched an attack on the Military Security Affairs (MSA) office and a police station under the Junta in the Hsengtaung Ward of Hpakant Township, Kachin State.

According to Hsengtaung residents, a coordinated attack by KIA and KPDF joint forces took place at 4:00 a.m. on September 25, targeting both the Military Security Affairs (MSA) office and the police station. A resident of Hsengtaung reported, "The shooting began at 4:00 a.m., and it was an unexpected attack. They targeted two locations – the KIA troops from the 6th Battalion took control of the MSA office, and there were also gunshots fired at the police station."

According to residents, following the joint attack by KIA and KPDF forces on the MSA (or Sa-Ya-Pha) office and the police station under the Military Council, the military began firing artillery shells indiscriminately.

Residents suggested that the Military Council might have incurred significant casualties during the attack. A local resident stated, "The extent of casualties remains uncertain. Following the gunfire, artillery shells were indiscriminately fired from the military hill-based camp."

On September 21, in Seikmu Village of Hpakant Township, a group of five policemen affiliated with the Military Council arrived at the clinic by car. They were subsequently attacked by joint forces comprising KIA and PDF members, resulting in the deaths of two policemen and causing serious injuries to three others.

Regarding the incident, a resident provided details, saying, "It occurred on Thursday at around 4:30 to 5:00 p.m. They opened fire on five policemen who had arrived at the clinic in IPSUM vehicles. Two officers lost their lives, and three others were wounded."

In Hpakant Township, clashes between the KIA and KPDF joint forces and Military Council troops have become a frequent occurrence. In August, the KIA 6th Battalion and KPDF joint forces managed to capture both the Kathaing Taung military camp and the SNA camp near Sezin village.
