Karenni State Interim Executive Council Points Out Military Council Spokesperson's Misleading Propaganda Regarding Ongoing Conflict in Loikaw Township Karenni State

The Karenni State Interim Executive Council (IEC) official accused Major General Zaw Min Tun, spokesperson of the Military Council, of spreading misleading propaganda that diverges from the real situation on the ground with regard to the ongoing conflict in Loikaw Township, Karenni (Kayah)

On October 14, Major General Zaw Min Tun, the spokesperson of the Military Council, claimed in the Myanmar Alin newspaper, that Karenni armed groups fired artillery shells and small arms at Loikaw University, forcibly abducting academic staff and students on the university compound.

Khu Plu Reh, Secretary of IEC added,” Some weapons belonging to KNPP and PDF were seized, and the bodies of certain KNPP and PDF members were discovered, while some of the soldiers carrying out security on their side, sustained injuries.

The IEC official emphasized that the public should not believe the propaganda disseminated by the Military Council.

" The ability to acquire and analyze information truthfully is crucial .Given the prevalence of false information in the current political and military landscape, coupled with widespread propaganda, it is important that the public can help the revolution by rejecting  misinformation, and diligently verifying the information they receive."

The press release from IEC, accompanied by pictures, stated that 134 non-CDM employees of Loikaw University and their families have been safely relocated, in accordance with humanitarian and human rights principles.

The Operation 1111 by the Karenni Revolution Union, initiated on November 11, continues  with intense fighting.

Khu Plu Reh urged the Military Council troops to leave the military "We offer Military Council soldiers looking to join CDM  two options in Karenni State.

The first is to embrace the Karenni People's Department of the Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF). You can reach out to that department to participate in CDM and the defection process. Furthermore, KNPP has established the Defector and CDM Supervision Committee. You can join these committees and become involved in the defection plan," he explained.

Secretary Khu Plu Reh stated that Military Council soldiers interested in joining CDM can contact the Karenni People's Embrace Facebook page and the Karenni National Progressive Party (KNPP) Defector and CDM Supervision Committee, where those who have reached out are being received and handled appropriately.

During the initial week of November, a police officer, along with his family and weapons, contacted the Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF) B-02 and defected.
