Battle in Muse Township Leaves Two Local Residents Injured

In the battle between the Ta'ang National Liberation Army (PSLF/TNLA) and the Military Council troops in Muse Township, Northern Shan State, two local individuals sustained injuries, and one house was destroyed by fire.

According to a local resident from Sei Lant Village, a battle took place in their village, located in Muse Township, from August 28 to 30. As a result of this battle, several residents sustained injuries, and their homes were engulfed in flames and destroyed.

"In Sei Lant, there are two groups: the Sei Lant group and the Nam Kat group. To the best of my knowledge, I can confirm that one of the houses in the Sei Lant group was burnt down, resulting in two injuries. In Nam Kat, two houses were also burnt down, with no one harmed," he reported.

During the battle, three houses were struck, and one of them was reduced to ashes. Additionally, two local individuals sustained injuries.

The injured individuals are U Aung Myat, aged 60, and U Aik Pu, aged 50. Regarding the condition of their injuries, the local man provided the following information.

"Out of the two men, the first one struck him in the back, causing a relatively significant injury but not life-threatening. The second one hit his calf, resulting in a non-serious injury," he explained.

Both of the injured individuals, U Aung Myat and U Aik Pu, are presently undergoing medical treatment at Muse Hospital.

On the other hand, as a result of the conflict between the Military Council troops and the TNLA, residents have reported that nearly 1,000 individuals from the Sei Lant village-tract are evacuating the area and seeking refuge in Muse and Namhkam.

"Yesterday, some people fled the conflict and sought refuge at their relatives' homes. In Muse, there are two locations where people can seek shelter, one in Ho Nar ward and the other in Swan Saw ward. Additionally, individuals also sought refuge from the conflict at the Namsang warehouse. In Namhkam, they found safety at their relatives' homes," said an IDP man.

Currently, the approximately 1,000 internally displaced persons (IDPs) are in dire need of food assistance from various sources.

On August 30, PSLF/TNLA announced that there were three clashes in a single day, occurring on August 29, in both Muse Township and Kutkai Township.

Furthermore, the PSLF/TNLA reported that as of August 29, a total of 18 clashes had occurred between the Military Council troops and the PSLF/TNLA.
