Myanmar Egress recently concluded their ‘Way out to Freedom’ training in in Mindat Town in southern Chin state.The purpose of the program was to provide training that will help individuals, civil society organizations and political groups engage with the government leading to democracy, economic upheaval in the country and reconciliation during the peace process, according to Salai Aung Aung from Mindat.

“About 60 men and 40 women participated in the training. The training was jointly organized by the Chin National Party (CNP) and Cho youth group and was held in Sanpiah block of Mindat,” said Salai Aung Aung.

During the training the one-hundred participants were divided up into groups of 5.

A parents and orphan group took the 1st prize. But everyone who took part in the training from Feb. 26 -29 received certifications for completing the program.

Myanmar Egress plans to provide more training for the Mindat participants in the future.

Myanmar Egress is a non-profit group made up of Burmese scholars and social workers. Since forming in 2006, it have been working with civil society groups and youth on developmental initiatives.
