Police Station in Kyaiktiyo Foothills Destroyed by Drone Attack

According to residents, the Kinmunchaung police station, located at the foot of the Kyaiktiyo Pagoda, was destroyed by a fire after being bombed by a drone.

A drone attack targeted the Kinmunchaung Police Station located in Kyaikto Township, Mon State.

A Kinmunchaung resident said, "I heard gunshots and noticed smoke emanating from the vicinity of the police station. It appears that there may have been a fire, but I am not certain about the specifics of what happened."

The Pa-O People Defense Force-Kham Dom (PPDF-KD) reported that the Kinmunchaung Police Station had been bombed four times by drones belonging to the revolutionary forces in Kyaikto Township around 4:00 p.m. on April 27.

Despite the revolutionary forces' announcement that the Kinmunchaung police station was burned to the ground during the attack, local residents have stated that they are unaware of the specifics surrounding the incident.

The PPDF-KD has announced that the situation regarding casualties among the Military Council troops during the attack on the police station has not been confirmed yet.

According to the announcement, the revolutionary forces were able to retreat safely without sustaining any harm.

The Kyaikto Revolutionary Forces have claimed responsibility for the attack on the Kinmunchaung Police Station on April 27, stating that they carried out the operation in collaboration with several groups, including KNLA, PDF, PPDF-KD, KRF, TPDF, Bilin (PDF), and Kyaikto (PDF).

Additionally, local residents have reported that following the attack on the Kinmunchaung police station, the Military Council troops stationed inside the building responded by firing back with artillery shells and small arms.

The PPDF-KD has issued a warning and an appeal to the public, urging them to stay away from the  Military Council troops' gate stations, battalions, and police stations in Mon State, as well as military convoys. The group stated that the People's Defense Forces will respond to the situation by firing and attacking these targets.

According to local residents, the Kinmunchaung Police Station, situated at the foot of the Kyaiktiyo Pagoda, is frequently targeted by the People's

Defense Joint Forces, which are active in the region.
