On April 16, at approximately 2:00 p.m., Military Council troops arrested Ko Than Soe Oo, Ma Kyain Duan Kain, Ma Hnin San, and Ko Myo Ko Win, who were among the individuals gathered for the Revolutionary Thingyan flash rally at Bogyoke Road, Tat Oo Thida Ward in Kalay Township.

A close close to the family said, “Military Council troops arrived at the residence of Ma Kyain Duan Kain in Munlaing Ward, Kalay township, around 4:00 p.m. They abducted her 60-year-old sick mother and disabled niece, who were present in the house, and sealed it. The house only has women, as the father and older brother are striving to support the family elsewhere. The mother is unwell and has a weak leg, while her brother’s daughter is unable to speak. The Military Council arrested all of them and they haven’t returned home yet.”

He further stated that the reason behind the abduction of Ma Kyain Duan Kain’s disabled mother and niece by the Military Council troops remains unknown, and they have yet to be released, causing great concern among their family members.
