15 Military Council Troops Killed in latest 2-Day Battle

Since fighting began on March 9 KNDF announced that 90 Military Council troops killed in the eastern part of Demoso township Karenni State

On March 31, the Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF) reported Military Council troops clashed with the Karenni Army (KA) and KNDF joint forces near Dawhlarkhu village,the eastern part of Demoso township, Karenni state.

The Military Council troops had been conducting combat operations towards Nyehbukhu mountain when the clash occurred, resulting in the deaths of 15 Military Council troops and the seizure of weapons and ammunition by the KNDF.

From March 29- 30, a fierce two-day battle took place between joint forces and the Military Council’s Infantry Battalion 287, which was conducting a combat operation. The clash resulted in the deaths of 15 members of the Military Council, and many others were injured.

The KNDF also announced that they had seized three MA-1 guns, two MA-2 guns, one MA-3 gun, ammunition, and accessories from the regime forces.

On the night of March 30, the KNDF reported that two warplanes bombarded around the mountain of Dawtamagyi village again. On March 25, the KNDF announced that over 90 Military Council troops had been killed and at least 50 wounded in the eastern part of Demoso township since the fighting began on March 9. Additionally, a large amount of weapons and ammunition were seized by the KNDF.

It was reported that on the afternoon of March 30, Military Council troops fired nearly 10 times around the mountain of Dawhlarkhu village, using two fighter jets. They also fired twice at a school in a nearby village, where there was no fighting. Local residents reported that a 25-year-old man was killed and several others were injured as a result of the airstrikes.

Fighting between the Military Council column and joint forces has been ongoing in southern Shan State since the last week of February and in Demoso Township, Karenni State since March 9 th and continues to this day.

The KNDF has called upon people both within and outside the country to provide support to the joint forces that are defending and fighting.
