Shan Village Bombed by Military Council’s Jet Fighter

The village of North Salong in Pinlaung Township, Taunggyi District Shan State, was bombed by by the air-force.

An officer in charge of the Pa-O National Defense Force- Kham Kaung (PNDF-KK) told the Shan Herald that at 1:00 p.m. on March 27th , “the Military Council troops bombarded the village of North Salong, Pinlaung Township with a fighter jet.”

He added “ The Military Council is destroying every village they enter.”

Kayah (Karenni) Revolution Union (KRU) Information Officer Ko Lin Lin also reported that on the evening of March 28, “an IDP camp in the western part of Demoso, Kayah State (Karenni) was bombed by a fighter jet, killing 1 person and injuring 4 people.

Yesterday evening and early in the morning, the Military Council dropped bombs. We heard about 4-5 explosions. 1 died on the spot. The other 4 were injured.”

In the Shan-Kayah border area, where the fighting is intense, the Military Council troops are firing artillery shells almost every day, and fighter jets are also flying in every day.

Since February 24, more than 5,000 people from North Salong, South Salong, Taung Me Thin, Long Pyin, Pin Pong, and Nam Nein villages in Pinlaung Township have fled their homes due to the fighting between the Military Council troops and the People’s Defense Forces (PDF).
