A top commander of Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA), framed as a terrorist group, was shot dead in Ukhiya refugee camp of Cox's Bazar on Tuesday morning, said a report in The Daily Star, published from Dhaka.

Quoting the Armed Police Battalion (APBn) source, the daily also reported that the deceased was identified as Nur Habib alias Daktar Wakkas (42 years old), who was involved in a number of  criminal activities including murders.

The ARSA commander died while undergoing treatment at IOM hospital, stated a press release signed by APBn assistant superintendent of police Md Faruk Ahmed.

The Bangla police source reveals that the ARSA commander faced brutality following the ongoing fight  for supremacy in the refugee’s camp areas.
