Nearly 30 junta troops killed in Tanintharyi clash in one week

Nearly 30 members of the military regime were killed in the clashes that raged from January 23 to January 29 in Tanintharyi Township, the People’s Defense Force – Tanintharyi told Than Lwin Times.

The fighting heated up as allied resistance forces attacked the military regime's bases.

Every day clashes between the two sides occurred in Taninthari city and the villages of Banlamut, Bawdican, Thamoatchone, and Mayingyi in Taninthari township.

Nearly 30 members of regime troops were killed and many others were injured, while the PDF lost three comrades, according to the information official of the People’s Defense Force (PDF).

Thousands of locals were forced to leave their villages as a result of the conflict, which left one civilian dead and 10 more injured.

The week-long fighting temporarily stopped yesterday, January 30, but the conflict remains tense.
