Junta troops patrolling in tank convoy, opening fire in Thaton

The regime troops patrolled in tank convoy and fired shots to scare the residents in Thaon, Mon State, after a deputy battalion commander was killed in the attack.

Since the morning of November 16, the junta army has been patrolling and shooting in a convoy of 13 vehicles, including armored tanks, in Thatthong Township.

The regime’s tank convoy opened fire with small arms for nearly 20 minutes, threatening the residents near Win Sein village, where the deputy battalion commander died.

As a result, the residents of Win Sein village were forced to flee to safer places.

The Military Council’s tank convoy left Thaton Township for Kyaikto Township at around 12:00 noon.

On November 10, Major Chit Win Thu, the deputy battalion commander, and three others from the No. 9 Training unit based in Thaton Township were killed in an attack by Thaton PDF  in Win Sein village.
