Mandalay Region police station bombed with drones

Five police officers were killed when joint defence forces dropped bombs from a drone onto the junta police station in Singu Township, in Mandalay Region’s Pyin Oo Lwin District at 2:30 p.m. on 31 October.

According to the Dragon Urban Guerrilla group, one of seven defence force groups involved in the attack, the attackers killed five police officers when they dropped two bombs from drones onto the junta-affiliated village police station in Ngweyone, in Singu Township.

It said that after the bombs were dropped the junta troops in the police station opened fire on the defence forces with small arms, but the defence forces were able to retreat without suffering any casualties.

According to locals two military Mi 35 helicopters flew over the village following the attack.

On 1 November, the roads in front of and around the police station were closed as junta personnel inspected the area, according to Captain Linyone from Pyin Oo Lwin Peoples’s Defence Force (PDF).

Mizzima is still waiting for a response after contacting the defence forces involved in the attack for further information about the attack and junta casualties.

Amongst the groups involved in the attack were: Wolf Guerrilla (Ye U), Northern Tigers Group (NTG), Pyin Oo Lwin P.D.F, Fire Dragon (Khin U), Burmese Revolution Youth (BRU)
