Military informer shot dead by Dawei Resistance Groups

The Dawei Guerrilla Revolutionary Force (DGRF) announced they eliminated 72-year-old U Nyan Aye, a member of Pyu Saw Htee at around 1:00 PM on October 17.

A local resident commented "The man shot was an army supporter. When the army came to be deployed in the village, he acted as their informer, leading to many arrests of anti-coup protesters. He was also a member of the ultra-nationalist Pyu Saw Htee militia, set up by the Military Council.

U Nyan Aye, a resident from Watchaung Village in Yebyu Township has 3 children, the eldest son is a Non-CDM administrative official, the daughter is a Non-CDM school teacher. But the youngest son stood up for the truth, and rebelled against the military dictatorship, locals said.

When U Nyan Aye returned to the village for a while, DGRF assassinated him with the help of Launglon LLPDF and T-PDF, according to their announcement.

“Although his son is a revolution fighter, U Nyan Aye’s actions inevitably led to the punishment he deserved,” the statement said. The joint local defense forces also expressed their sincere apologies for the son's understanding and forgiveness for this judgment.
