Magway PDF tried to stop military ‘s arson attack on Taung Oo Village

Officials of the local defense forces from Yesagyo Township in Magway Division said that 6 members of the Military Council were killed due to their ongoing operations. “Military Council troops were attacked twice in one day near Taung Oo village ge in Yesagyo, and six soldiers were killed, according to the Myaing Rural Guerrilla Force (MRGF).

“As we announced, our joint forces of MRGF 1, MRGF 2 and allies from Pakokku, Myaing and Yesagyo Townships attacked the terrorist Military Council troops on October 17, who were preparing to burn down Taung Oo Village in the west of the Yesagyo. There were intense gunfights as well as artillery fire from both sides”, an official from MRGF said. The Military Council set Taung Oo Village on fire in the afternoon after the fighting, according to an MRGF official.

“We had to open fire because the Military Council was preparing to set fire to the village. I heard that there was a lot of firing but I can’t say exactly, because I am not from the village. I saw a lot of smoke billowing out from the area”, the official said.

The local defense forces also fired at a distance on the military junta’s troops setting fire to the village. Taung Oo villagers are still fleeing, and Military Council troops are still active around the village, so it is difficult to estimate the damage conditions in the village, officials from MRGF explained.

As the Military Council troops are conducting operations in Yesagyo Township and burning some villages, the local defense forces have warned the people to be vigilant and to stay away from the Military Regime forces.
