Belin: NLD supporters, residents subject to wave of arrests

The National League for Democracy (NLD) supporters and residents have been continuously arrested by the authorities in Mon State’s Belin Township since a few days ago, the locals told Than Lwin Times.

The military council detained U Hein Zaw Lat and U Pwint Oo, two NLD supporters from the village of Zotehote in Belin on the 2nd of October.

The Military Council came to arrest both of them on suspicion of supplying money to the People’s Defense Forces (PDFs).

The regime forces also arrested pro-NLD U Myo Win and four family members, including underage children, in Sinsu Village, Beilin Township, in the last week of September.

In addition, two siblings from Alugyi village, Maung Aung Zin Phyo and Ma Wathon Soe, (alias Ma Aye Thalang Soe), who came to apply for a National Registration Cards at the immigration office in Beilin Township, were arrested by the Military Council.

The arrestees are held incommunicado and their families have no idea of their whereabouts.

The military council has been arresting suspects continuously because the regime's camps, departments, militia, and informants were frequently attacked by resistance forces.
