Bomb explodes outside Mytel office in Ayeyarwady Region’s Pathein Township

The Pathein Special Task Force (PSTF) and the Kangyi Daunt PDF detonated a remote-controlled mine at the Mytel office on Strand Road, in Ayeyarwaddy Region’s Pathein Township at about 7:45 p.m. on 2 October.

“As this was an urban mission it had to be prepared so that it had as little impact as possible on the populace. We only target the regime, it may be less effective, but we continue fighting as much as we can. The general population must heed the instructions given by the Local PDFs. Because of the people, some missions and targets must be rescheduled”, said a member of the Pathein Special Task Force (PSTF).

PSTF also said that it will continue targeting the regime’s administration and economic pillars in Pathein Township.

According to a person living near to the Mytel office the bomb blast caused some damage to the front facade of the office. Whether there were any casualties or any possible casualty numbers is not known.

According to the locals, military and police troops arrived after the bomb blast and searched the neighborhood.
