Woman seriously injured by artillery shell in Theinzayat

A woman was seriously wounded when the junta hit a mortar shell into Wadakkwin village in Mon State’s Theinzayat Town, locals told Than Lwin Times.

The Light Infantry Battalion 207 fired two artillery shots into Wadakkwin village at around 7 am on the 15th of September.

The shell fired by the junta exploded near Meelaung new ward 8 in Wadakkwin village, injuring a woman. A resident said that the woman who was hit by a mortar shell was being treated at the Theinzayat Town Hospital and was transferred later to Mawlamyine Hospital at noon yesterday.

For the time being, the Military Council is preparing to advance the KNU Brigade (1) area of Kyaikto Township, frequently firing heavy weapons into the villages.

More than 20,000 locals in Kyaikto have fled to neighboring forests and safe places as the Military Council fired heavy weapons into the communities, and they have not been able to return home until now.
