Thailand's PTTEP gas pipeline attacked in Kanpauk Township

The onshore gas pipeline of Thailand’s PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP) was attacked near Phwar Shin Ma Mountain in Kanpauk of Tanintharyi Region’s Yebyu Township on August 1, the local residents told Than Lwin Times.

The unidentified group detonated Zawtika’s natural gas pipeline, part of Thailand’s PTTEP International Limited.

The pipeline was damaged by the attack and there was a leakage at the pipeline but no one was injured.

The gas pipeline was attacked while the military council forces were providing security, the locals said.

After the natural gas pipeline leak occurred, the military council and company officials went to inspect and repair it.

Thailand's PTTEP company is delivering natural gas from the offshore Zawtika’s oil and natural gas block to Thailand via inland pipelines through Tanintharyi Region.

The Thai PTTEP Company is a joint venture company with the Myanmar Ministry of Electricity and Energy in the fields of oil and natural gas.

It has not yet been confirmed which group destroyed the natural gas pipeline of the Thai PTTEP Company Limited.
