10 soldiers killed in mine attack in Sagaing’s Yinmarbin Township

People’s Defence Force (PDF) the Regional Friend Fighters (RFF) killed at least 10 junta soldiers in a mine attack on a road junction near to Phowin Mountain Junction in Sagaing Region’s Yinmarbin Township on 19 June, according to an RFF announcement.

An official said: “We waited and struck first with three mines and then followed that by [exploding] five mines. At least 10 junta soldiers died.”

The attack happened near Phowin Mountain at 9am on 19 June. The junta troops responded to the attack with heavy artillery and small arms fire, but all the resistance forces were able to withdraw safely without suffering any casualties, according to the RFF.

The official explained that the RFF had collaborated with other resistance forces to attack the 102-vehicle military convoy that was travelling from Yinmarbin.

Along with RFF, fighters from Zamani Guerrillas without Border, Golden Star Force and Lucky Seven took part in the attack.
