Junta convoy hit by landmines in Sagaing’s Kani Townsip

One person was killed and four others were seriously injured in a landmine attack on a Military convoy in Kani Township, in Sagaing Region at 9 am on 20 April, according to a local defence force.

An official from the Dictatorship Revolutionary People's Army (DRPA) told Mizzima that a Junta logistic convoy heading to YeLe Kyun Village in Kani Township was intercepted by local defence forces.

“The convoy which was en route to supply food to a Pyu Saw Htee village was ambushed with landmines”, he said.

A junta soldier was killed in the attack and supplies meant for the Pyu Saw Htee village were seized by defence forces.

Junta troops stationed in YeLe Kyun Village have been collaborating with members of the junta-aligned Pyu Saw Htee militia to launch attacks on defence forces around Kani Township.
