Field huts burnt down by Junta troops in Depayin

unta troops raided villages in the western part of Depayin township, Shwebo district, Sagaing Region and torched the field huts that farmers use during planting and harvesting seasons Depayin on December 4 according to local residents.

Residents had to flee to their villages leaving their belongings when they heard junta soldiers were raiding the huts.

Junta troops stayed in the huts for a while, destroying and torching everything before leaving.

Thirteen huts and also Depayin PDF Battalion (2) training camp were burnt down.

Depayin PDF leader Ko Thu Kha said PDF trainees successfully retreated while the junta troops raided Depeyin,.

However, junta troops destroyed village-owned benches, generator, rice-cookers and dishes that were used to cook for around 230 to 300 PDF trainees.

Barns that were set on fire were used to grow seasonal crops besides storing rice, cooking oil, salt, peanut, peas and peanut oil.

There are 37 townships in Sagaing Division and almost all townships have local People's Defense Forces (PDFs).
