Large number of firearms and ammunition seized in Mandalay region

Myanmar authorities have seized a large number of firearms and ammunition in Mandalay region, the Information Ministry said in a statement, Xinhua reported.

The seizure was made by security force members in Amarapura township on Oct. 5.

A total of 200 assault rifles, 20 machine guns, 32,640 rounds of ammunition and related materials were confiscated from a fuel tanker truck, the ministry said.
