People’s defence force kills 4 junta soldiers in Magway landmine attack

Myanmar junta troops suffered a landmine attack on the Saw-Kyaukhtu road section in Magway Region on 1 October morning, leaving 4 dead and some injured.

A spokesperson of CAF-MGPDF local defence force said that the attack was carried out by their group in coordination with the special militia group Yaw Defence Force (Saw & Kyaukhtu).

“As we have lesser fire power, we could conduct only a landmine attack instead of shooting. Four junta soldiers were killed in the landmine attack and many of them injured,” he added.

Their joint forces also carried out an attack on junta troops in Saw Township on 29 September.

The junta has cut off internet networks in Saw Township as they are conducting offensive attacks on the people’s defence forces or PDFs.

The Yaw Defence Force (Saw & Kyaukhtu) has warned civilians not to use the Saw-Kyaukhtu road section.

Areas of Magway have seen intense fighting over the past few months.
