Military opens fire on former CDM administrator, killing son and injuring brother

The son and brother of U Ko Ni a former Administrator of No. 20 Chaung Daung Ward, Myingyan Township, Mandalay Region were shot by the Tatmadaw according to locals.

Four men in plain clothes with guns on motorcycles opened fire on his home. His son died at Myingyan Hospital.

The chairman was a former administrator of No. 20 ward in Myingyan Township before the military coup.

He was charged under Section 505 (a) of the Criminal Procedure Code by the Military Council as he participated in the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) and refused to work for military council as a ward administrator after the coup.
