Authorities seize 9,900 kg of controlled chemicals

Authorities seized a total of 9,900 kg of controlled chemicals in Nay Pyi Taw, said a release from the Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control (CCDAC) on Thursday, Xinhua reported.

Plastic barrels filled with hydrochloric acid were confiscated from a 12-wheeled truck travelling from Thar Wut Hti to Pyinmana town.

On the same day, 3.9 kg of raw opium were seized from a motorcycle by an anti-narcotic taskforce on Hopong-Loilem road in Hopong township, Shan state.
