Calls 1800 volunteer teachers, applicants over 2000

It was imparted from Pau Lwin Min Thang, Minister of Education that 1800 volunteer teachers were called for the vacant positions in Matupi, Chin State and the applications have been over 2000.

 “The Calls of 1800 volunteer teachers is right and the applications have been over 2000. This is to address an emergency issue. Having conducted an entrance exam, those who pass (the exam) will be appointed. Persons with high qualification are not able to be appointed (for the positions) and the moderate persons will be apparently appointed with allowance. Ministry of Union Education at the moment will not able to appoint (permanent) teachers. So is appointment of volunteer teachers initiated for the emergency used” said Minister of Chin State Education, U Pau Lwin Min Thang.

Due to vast vacancies of teachers in Matupi, after such positioning of volunteer teachers has been deliberated in State Parliament, the Union Government took the action.

Salai Aung Lain, MP from Matupi Constituency, said “There are 300 vacant positions in Matupi. Because of the reason of situation that reaches the vacant schools are going to be closed, I and U Pa Thang (Pyithuhlauttaw of Matupi) proposed to appoint volunteer teachers. While around of 4000 teachers requirement in Chin State, Hakha Education Colleague produces 50 persons a year. So, as a priority, unemployed graduate and grade tenth passed persons are encouraged.”

There are a great numbers of teachers requirement in Chin State and in this year in order to cover the requirement, 350 volunteer teachers were appointed in Paletwa.
