A Myanmar military official on Monday dropped a lawsuit against Hkalam Samson, chairman of the Kachin Baptist Convention (KBC), who had discussed religious freedom with the U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House in July, Anadolu Agency reported.

Hkalam Samson was facing a criminal charge for telling Trump that the military oppressed Christians in Myanmar.

However, the plaintiff withdrew the legal case against the Baptist leader, according to Judge Than Tun at a court in Myitkyina, capital of northern Kachin state, the report said.
