Police still investigating hand-grenade found near NLD office in Thingangyun

Police are still investigating a hand-grenade found in front of NLD office in Bawamyint Ward, Thingagyun Township in Yangon Region.

A municipal sweeper found the hand-grenade in front of the NLD office near Malikha housing apartment block in Malikha Road in Thingangyun Township on July 24 at about 6 a.m.

A Thingangyun Township Police Station House Officer told Mizzima by phone, “The case has not yet been registered. I only have information reported by media. I know nothing apart from that. This case is still under investigation.”

A Thingangyun Township Police Officer personally seized and disarmed the hand-grenade but the type of grenade has not yet been disclosed officially.

NLD party Bawamyint Ward office chairman Aye Win told Mizzima that the police were viewing CCTV footage recorded by nearby buildings and hoped that the suspects would be caught soon.
