Ecstasy tablets worth nearly 400 million kyats seized in Maungdaw Township

Myanmar Narcotic Drug Suppression and Control Central Committee said that 195,000 ecstasy tablets (worth 390 million kyats at market price) were seized in Maungdaw Township, Rakhine State.

A joint team of personnel from Military Affairs Intelligence (MAI) and Police Forces from Hlabawzar police station searched the house in Dashe village, Maungdaw Township belonging to Abu Tar (43) and Musta Ahmed (32) on February 10 at 3 p.m. and they found ecstasy tablets packed in bags and hidden in bushes near a mosque.

According to a press releases issued by Myanmar Narcotic Drug Suppression and Control Committee, amphetamine-type stimulants, ecstasy, arms and ICE were seized in Tachileik, Myeik, Lashio, Dawei, Launglon, Muse, Mohnyin, and Kongyan Townships in the first week of February.
