Guns and Ammunition seized in Namhsan

Acting on a tip off, a combined team intercepted and searched a Pajero near Hteen Shuee Myaing Village and seized a gun and ammunition from the vehicle at 7 pm on 1 February, state media reported.

The vehicle was driven by Khon Shwe Aye. The authorities found one gun, made in China, and ammunition from the vehicle. During interrogation, Khon Shwe Aye said he bought them from Sai Ba Maung at his house in Namhsan Town. He also told police that Sai Ba Maung had several guns and ammunition in the house.

The team searched Sai Ba Maung’s house and found 25 guns, 188 magazines, 6,142 bullets, 34 40-MM grenades, and other items. Police have launched a search for Sai Ba Maung.
