‘Will work for an investment-friendly environment through reform works’ - State Counsellor

She was speaking at the ‘Invest Myanmar Summit 2019’ opening ceremony held at Myanmar International Convention Centre 2 (MICC 2) in Nyapyitaw on January 28.

“It is the time for having high ambitions and taking bold steps. We have been doing significant reform work 0ver recent years and we could achieve some important reforms in the country. The prime objective of all the reform work is to create a more systematic environment for the development of all-round market economy in accordance with law, rule and regulations relating to the market economy. We are also doing restructuring work based on foreign trade and investment for gaining high momentum in the development of the country. We will create an investment-friendly environment through continuing reform works,” she said.

This summit was jointly organized by Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations and Union of Myanmar Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) the summit showed over 120 investment projects and 200 more projects of private and Regions/States worth over US$ 20 billion.

“The main reason for inviting investment is because of Myanmar’s geographical situation as the hub of China, India, Bangladesh, Laos and Thailand and it can create a strategic market for all of these countries so that we invite all to come and invest in our country,” the State Counsellor said.
