Myitkyina Township Court has scheduled the next court hearing for the three Kachin protest leaders' case to July 2.

U Lum Zawng, U Zau Jat, and Daw Nang Pu have been charged for leading a protest to call for the rescue of trapped residents. The case has been submitted to the state high court due to lack of evidence in the hearing of the case by the township court.

Lt-Col Myo Min Oo from the Tatmadaw’s Northern Command filed the charges against the three leaders for leading Kachin youths in the movement for freeing the trapped residents on April 30.

The first court hearing was held on May 16 and the fifth hearing was held on June 18.
