Flash floods expected to hit Mon State

Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Win Myat Aye yesterday visited Mawlamyine and Mottama of Mon State that is facing flash floods due to continuous downpour since 16 June, state media reported.

He visited places damaged by floods in the two towns. The Union Minister and delegation looked into the requirements of Tatmadaw members, police officials, fire brigade members and departmental personnel, who were in charge of clearing debris.

The Union Minister and delegation also provided cash aid to family members of homes damaged by the floods and wind in the town, according to the report.
