Five Myanmar refugee organizations to mark World Refugee Day in New Delhi

Five Myanmar refugee organizations from New Delhi, India will hold a ceremony to mark the World Refugee Day on June 20.

Myanmar Refugee Organization (MRO)’s chair Ko Htwe told Khonumthung that the Chin Refugee Committee (CRC), the Myanmar Refugee Organization (MRO), Burmese Refugee Women Delhi (BRWD), the Chin Human Right Organization (CHRO), and the Delhi Chin Community Fellowship (DCCF) will hold the ceremony.

“The refugee organizations in New Delhi will hold it together. The exact details about the ceremony will be known on Monday,” said Ko Htwe.

He continued that the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Slic, Don Bossco, and Ashok Aggarwal have been invited to attend the ceremony. He added that he cannot reveal the details of the program as their attendance has not been confirmed yet.

The UNHCR holds a ceremony to mark the World Refugee Day every year while the refugees living in New Delhi held protests in the previous years.
