Representatives of the National Democratic Alliance Army-Eastern Shan State (NDAA-ESS), also known as Mongla, have backed the government’s “all-inclusive” peace policy and pledged not to secede from the union, upholding it as a political principle, state media reported on 2 August.

The organization based in Special Region-4 in Shan State held talks with the Union Peace Commission yesterday in Yangon over the upcoming Union Peace Conference—21st Century Panglong.

The two sides also discussed land issues, environmental conservation, human rights and freedom of belief, the report said.
