Dr Sasa Meets with Chin State Government

Dr. Sasa, founder of the Chin community based organisation (CBO), Health and Hope, met with representatives of the Chin State Government, religious leaders and the Hakha Rescue Committee with the help of Chin National Front (CNF).

The meeting with Dr Sasa, who has donated to flood relief in Chin State took place on 10 September in Hakha, the Chin State capital.

sasaDr Sasa has donated medicines and medical instruments to disaster victims at seven rescue centres in Hakha being run by the Hakha Rescue Committee (HRC).

The medical aid Dr Sasa has donated includes 50,000 multi-vitamin tablets for pregnant women and children, 5,000 antibiotic tablets, 53 first aid boxes and four boxes of gloves.

Dr Sasa has also donated medicine to some villages in Chin State's Htantlang Township. He has also collected data on the natural disaster in Chin State and presented it to international donors in an effort to persuade them to send aid to Chin State.

Whilst in Hakha Dr Sasa gave inspirational talks at five churches to help lift the spirits of natural disaster victims. He said: "God knows all about our sorrows and happiness, so we must give them all to Him, He can do everything. I am very thankful to those who are taking responsibility for supplying relief to the disaster victims in Chin State. it is essential that we all work together."

Dr Sasa studied at medical college in Armenia and at present he is supporting 11 medical students in China, the Philippines, Ukraine, Armenia and India.
