Khaing Lu Hla (Roma Mray) — Two doctors were killed and one other was seriously injured in the bombing incident in Ann township of Rakhine State. The aerial attacks on a prisoners of war (PoW) camp by the military commission resulted in the killing of 116 individuals and injuring of 32 others, said an Arakan Army (AA) source.
Two doctors, who died in the bombing, are identified as surgical nurse captain Phyo Thu Rein Aye and radiologist captain Aung Aung Sek. The seriously injured doctor is found as captain Han Win Swe, a specialist in bone, joints and muscle rehabilitations.
The incident took place at around 11 am on 8 March and those doctors used to work for the military medical centre under the western regional command located in Ann.
The AA fighters captured the command in central Rakhine on 20 December 2024.
While rescuing the patients from the infirmary of the PoW camp, Han Win Swe was hit by the shrapnel of bombs.
He sustained injuries on eyes and ears. Currently he is receiving emergency medical treatment.
The AA also confirmed the death of two doctors in the three-hour long inhuman air attacks on Da Lat Chaung PoW camp using eight aircrafts.
