Airstrike Kills Family of Six in Tedim Township

A junta airstrike instantly killed a family of six when it hit  Saizang Village in Tedim Township, northern Chin State at around 11:00 pm on 9 April.

A woman living in the village said: “Our village got bombed around 11:00 pm. Six people from one family were killed, including men, women, and children. There were also some injured, and several houses were destroyed.”

The airstrike was the first to hit Saizang Village and it happened despite there being no fighting in the area, according to the aforementioned woman who suggested that following its loss of Falam Town the junta may have been targeting civilian areas in Tedim Township to instill fear into the population and discourage revolutionary forces from attacking targets in Tedim Township.

The deceased family has been named as: Pa Pau Sian Kham (age 43), Nu Cing Sen Don (age 40), and their children Kham Ho Van (age 17), Cing Sian Nuam (age 10), Suan Deih Sian (age 5), and Kim Deih Piang (age 14). Another villager who was seriously wounded and is currently in  critical condition was transferred to Kale Township in Sagaing Region for treatment.

Saizang is a large village about 7 miles from Tedim Town, it was once home to the Chin Saophas (ancient Chin tribal rulers).

The Chin Brotherhood (CB) and allied resistance forces announced that they had captured Falam Town on 9 April 2025 and declared all of Falam township a junta-free zone.

Also on 9 April, the junta launched more airstrikes across Chin State that killed another six civilians, including a Christian preacher, in Hpwi Village in Mindat Township, Chin State.
